My dear friends I would like to share my lovely experience in the new Marlin hotel and its exceptional restaurant. During the pandemic everyone is tired of staying at home - so my partner and I decided to celebrate my birthday by staying in the Hotel and eating at the Canteen restaurant. Marlin hotel is located in heart of city beside grafton Street D2. We were one of very few staying in this chic 300 bed hotel so social distancing was not a problem. The room was beautiful and bright with a huge double bed. We had a delicious four course meal for just 58€ each. The food and service is high end with huge emphasis on ingredients and presentation. The taste is mouth watering and both of us ordered different dishes. The atmosphere and music was magnificent! The restaurant was full but again we were set well apart from Each other to maintain at least 2 metres. Well trained staff looked after us in a nice way and made me feel so special on my birthday!! This is a find so check it out.

Simple menu with an amazing food. All seasonal and familiar ingredients transformed into these modern dishes. Would be interesting to see a wine pairing with the menu. Also the location in hotel might sometimes feel bit too much like a another hotel restaurant, which is definitely not the case here.

The food was amazing. The ambience was calm & inviting. The staff were helpful & professional. Really good brunch, wide range on the menu. Highly recommend it.

Excellent. A little surprised that it was a brunch menu and not lunch menu as I thought when making the reservation. None the less the food was fantastic. Beautifully presented. Very fresh and flavourful. Waiting staff excellent. Very relaxed atmosphere. Couldn't fault it. Making dinners reservations soon. A really nice experience. Celbridge is very lucky to be this restaurant in its beautiful village. 5 stars from me without hesitation.

I think four basic things are necessary for a restaurant to thrive; Good food, good value, good ambience and last but not least good staff. The Canteen has all of these elements. My wife and I ate here last night for her birthday. We recently dined in a similar type restaurant in the city so we were in a position to compare. In both our opinions the Canteen was the better mainly because of the variety available on the menu and also the portion sizes. The staff were really friendly and informative. One nice touch is the beautiful sourdough bread we were given while we waited for our meal. It's a simple enough thing to provide but so many restaurants don't do it which is strange as it takes the pressure off staff immediately. I'd highly recommend the Canteen and will return.
